Getting into Amazon

You know it, we know it…everyone knows it. If you have a product that you are trying to get to market, getting those products on Amazon is a great way to get exposure to new customers. If you’ve explored around the Amazon environment, you’ll also know that it’s a bit like a maze, and there are a lot of choices to make and questions to answer when getting setup.

Whether you decide to setup your account with Amazon as Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA) or Fulfilled by Merchant (FBM) or both, we have you covered. We have years of experience servicing both kinds of accounts for our customers and we know all the in’s and out’s for getting your product to Amazon customers quickly.

Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA)

Amazon FBA is a program where vendors – like you – ship larger quantities of their product into Amazon, for Amazon to manage. That means that Amazon will receive, store, pick, pack, and ship your items for delivery to your end customers.

Despite Amazon storing your product, you still need an intermediate third-party fulfillment provider between your manufacturer and Amazon; that’s where Orbit comes in.

  • As your inventory levels at Amazon draw down, you would prepare for a new replenishment order to be sent to Amazon to bring back inventory levels to back to normal.
  • Once you know which items and what quantities need to be replenished, you would place an outbound order with Orbit.
  • Orbit then pulls and processes those items, applying any labeling or other Amazon specific identification to each pallet or carton to make sure you are Amazon compliant.

Depending on the size of your shipment, we can have your replenishment order to Amazon out the door in as little as a few hours.

Fulfilled by Merchant (FBM)

Whereas FBA puts your inventory into Amazon centers for them to fulfill, FBM orders keeps your inventory with your third-party logistics provider. In this program, you keep more control of your product and processes.

When an end consumer places an order in Amazon for one of your items, those items will ship from our facility directly to then end consumer, by-passing Amazon all together.

This program is a great option when you have a capable third-party fulfillment services provider who can execute quickly and at a great cost.
